American Airlines now offers a direct flight twice a day from Miami International (MIA) to Tortola (EIS).

Connecting via Ferry
You can get from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda by ferry. The ferry dock in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas is a 10-minute taxi ride from the St. Thomas airport.
St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda (Saturday Only)
Speedy’s offers a direct ferry between Charlotte Amalie and Virgin Gorda. This ferry route is only available on Saturdays. The ferry leaves Charlotte Amalie for Virgin Gorda at 4:30pm and leaves Virgin Gorda for Charlotte Amalie at 8:30am. The ferry ride is approximately 1.5 hours. Virgin Gorda will be your first stop outside the U.S. and you will do Customs and Immigration at the Virgin Gorda terminal. Please note that you will need to arrive at the terminal in Charlotte Amalie and Virgin Gorda at least 30 minutes prior to departure to check in but you do not need to purchase tickets in advance.
St. Thomas to Tortola to Virgin Gorda
The ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola takes 1 hour. Tortola will be your first stop outside the U.S. This is where you will need to get off the boat to clear Customs and Immigration. This typically takes 30-45 minutes. You will then depart from the same dock for the 30-minute ferry ride from Road Town, Tortola to Virgin Gorda. The last ferry to Virgin Gorda from Road Town leaves at 4:30. If you cannot make that ferry, take a 30-minute taxi ride to Trellis Bay on Beef Island and then a 20-minute ferry ride from Trellis Bay to Virgin Gorda.

Ferries from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas to Road Town, Tortola run daily using the 3 ferry services listed below. While the departure times remain the same each day (2:30pm and 4:30pm), the ferry service making the runs changes daily. We highly recommend that you purchase these tickets in advance as they often sell out in High Season.
